The AHLA is the nation’s largest, nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) educational organization devoted to legal issues in the health care field. AHLA’s 13,000+ membership is diverse and represents the entire spectrum of the health care industry, including physicians, hospitals and health systems, health plans and health maintenance organizations, health insurers, life sciences, managed care companies, nursing facilities, home care providers, and consumers. In 1992, the AHLA developed the first national roster of arbitrators, mediators, and hearing officers with health law expertise. Today, this roster remains the only national service dedicated exclusively to resolving disputes in the health care industry.
