Thompson Elected YLD President Elect

Renee E. Thompson, a senior associate in the firm's Ocala office was recently elected by the YLD Board of Governors as President Elect Designate for The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division. Thompson will take office as President-Elect of the Division in June 2009 at the Bar's Annual Meeting in Orlando, FL and as President in June 2010 at the Bar's Annual Meeting in Boca Raton, FL. She has served as the Fifth Circuit representative for the YLD for the past six years and currently holds the Chair positions for the YLD Local Bar Affiliates Committee and Annual Meeting Committee.
 
Additionally, Thompson was recently asked to serve on the Advisory Board for the Academy of Law and Government at Marion Technical Institute. The Academy is designing a college level program for junior and senior high school students who have an interest in a career in law and government. Thompson currently coaches high school students participating in the Florida Law Related Education Annual High School Moot Court Competition.
